Trip 03: Exploring Osmeña Peak

“The mountains are calling and I must go.”
(John Muir)

Osmeña Peak is the highest peak in Cebu.  It is 1,000 meters above sea level. It is situated in a place of productive agricultural crops at Mantalongon, Dalaguete also know as “The Summer Capital of Cebu” Originally, it is inside the municipality of Badian, however, due to road accessibility of Mantalongon, most of the mountaineers  used the said route.  It’s a good place for fun, hiking, climbing or even camping. Somehow, the naturalistic view can be seen in 360-degree from the peak to the southwestern coastline of Cebu and the province of Negros Oriental specially if the weather is good.  You can’t able to see the whole place if it is foggy but it is cool and good feeling. The peak can be seen like a perfect view of Chocolate Hills in Bohol but because of rocky and sharp point makes it difference. The area is own by a private individual so they would collect    Php. 20.00  for the entrance fee and for the maintenance of the area.

Our Journey started here:

Before going to the top we needed to stop over and ate some food…

It was my first time to visit the place with my friends. We rode a bus from the South Terminal and traveled almost 1 1/2 to 2 hours from the City. We had a stop over just to eat our breakfast (Batchoy). Yummy!!!
We rode a motocycle going to Mantalongon Public Market just to buy some foods. The road was clear and good for travelers. (yeeeeh ☺♥♥☺)
Honestly, we were on the top of the peak in this photo but take a look!!! too foggy.. ☺☺☺
Since the area was steppe…. of course…. helping hand… ○♥○♥○

Wow! The weather was not good but not that too bad for us. We enjoyed the moment while breathing the fresh and cool air. We couldn’t see the whole view of the peak because of the fog.

♦ Wakiki : Group shout on our way up to the peak ♦
